On January 16, London and Kyiv marked the first anniversary of the historic 100-Year Partnership Agreement. At an event hosted by the British Embassy to commemorate the milestone, our Association stood as the definitive voice of the Ukrainian technology sector.

Nataliya Mykolska, Executive Director of Diia.City United, moderated the flagship economic session: «Unlocking Mutual Growth for Ukrainian and British Businesses.» This was a high-level, results-oriented discussion focused on capital, strategic investment, and actionable milestones for the next 12–24 months.

The panel featured:

  • Chris Bryant, Minister of State at the Department for Business and Trade (UK);
  • Viacheslav Klymov, Co-founder of NOVA Group and Member of the Strategic Board of Diia.City United;
  • Yegor Perelygin, Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine;
  • Maksym Timchenko, CEO of DTEK.

From Support to Strategic Partnership

Opening remarks by UK Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy signalled a fundamental evolution in the bilateral relationship: the UK views Ukraine not merely as a recipient of aid, but as a pivotal architect of a new European security framework.

Nataliya Mykolska emphasised that Ukraine is now a proven partner for scaling operations. However, to accelerate investment flows, it is critical to eliminate «execution frictions.»

The Ukrainian tech sector provides the most efficient bridge for the British capital. Its inherent agility enables incremental de-risking, laying the foundation for deeper cooperation across critical industries such as energy and logistics.

The dialogue prioritised practical strategies for overcoming operational and regulatory barriers through enhanced communication, structured interaction formats, and the alignment of Ukrainian business practices with international corporate governance standards.

The Road to London Tech Week 2026

The momentum initiated during this anniversary will carry forward into the summer. We are already preparing for a high-impact presence at London Tech Week 2026.

For the second year, we will introduce global investors and the international tech community to the leaders of Ukraine’s technology ecosystem.
